Christner Woodworkers provides custom handcrafted wood products and services along with our superior steel pocket frame system . The owner, Jim Christner, takes great pride in the tradition of excellence acquired from over thirty years’ experience in woodworking. Striving to provide the best products on the market in their field, not satisfied with anything less.

Jim learned the trade of carpentry in Ohio and moved to Phoenix in 1973. One year later Christner Construction was started. Since that time, Jim has been framing large custom homes, building a reputation for craftsmanship and quality- specializing in handcrafted wood details for the southwest home such as: designing and cutting corbels, viga and beam work, latia railings, and fireplace mantels. During these framing years Christner Construction developed their steel pocket door frame system after being dissatisfied in other products on the market.

Jim’s son, Mike, grew up working in his dad’s shop where it soon became evident Mike was naturally talented in woodworking. Summers, Mike framed alongside his dad on the construction site, and after college he was eager to return to his heart’s ambition-carpentry. For the past 10 years he has been framing large custom homes. Many of the hand crafted details are given to Mike.

As framing construction gradually changed and geared more toward the trend of faster-cheaper Jim refused to compromise the tradition of quality. Therefore the original framing company Christner Construction went against the tide and downsized. In addition, Jim and Mike focus their expertise in fashioning the specialty items offered through Christner Woodworkers for those customers who still desire a quality product.

Just as Jim and Mike take pride in the originality and excellence of their craftsmanship, Christner Woodworkers will continue to supply homebuilders, contractors, designers, and homeowners the products and services that have been making their homes superior.
